 SACHE-MOHR THEORY

Sache mohr theory

1. To explain higher stability of cycloalkane and higher alkanes sache-mohr theory was proposed.
2. According to the sache-mohr theory carbon atoms upto 5 membered ring.

Example:- Cyclopentane present in the same plane but the carbon atoms in 6 membered and higher rings present in different planes.

3. Cyclohexane can exist into normal planar confirmations
both of which are completely free from strain these are called the chair and boat form because of their chain form of cyclohexane reveals that the hydrogen atoms can be divided into two categories

1. Axial hydrogens :-

Six of the bonds to hydrogen atoms points strait or down almost perpendicular to the plane of the molecule.

2. Equatorial hydrogens :-

The other 6 hydrogens present slightly above, slightly below the plane of the cyclohexane ring are called equatorial hydrogens.
